About meHi, My name is Mia Elbourne and I am the owner and operator of The Australian Art Index. I live in Ganmain, a small country town North West of Wagga in the Riverina region of NSW. I am a qualified Visual Arts teacher and still teach on a casual basis. I recently completed my Certificate IV in Small Business Management. I live with my defacto partner and two cats. I work across a wide variety of media in my art making including drawing, print making and installations. My work is inspired by my surroundings and current events that I feel strongly about. Full time teaching and other personal commitments have previously taken up a great deal of my time and energy, so I have not been as productive in recent times as I would have liked. Thus, the change to working for myself and working in the Visual Arts field. My aim is to create an exciting and informative Visual Arts website that allows artists to sell their own work, and puts art buyers in touch with the artists creating the work they want to buy. This is an excellent opportunity to avoid the expense and hassle of selling through a gallery, especially the 30% or more in commission, and get what you deserve for your hard work. Check out my new free web page offer! There is no obligation to sell your work, so if you just want to display your work and get some feedback, feel free! This is great for art students who are encouraged to begin their art practice, but who may not want to sell their work just yet. This site is all about friendly, personal service, so if you have any questions about buying or selling artworks, please email me at any time. |
